FROM THE MARGINS PODCAST /
PERSPECTIVES ON ARCHITECTURE
HI! I'm German
I'm a queer Mexican man, finishing a Ph.D. in history and theory of architecture. My work is about the history of modern architecture in Latin America and the United States with a focus on cultural relations, borders and politics. I’m interested in fields such as Border and Chicano Studies, Environmental History, and Urbanism, and many others but especially I'm interested in exploring Post-colonial and De-colonial perspectives. In a few words, I'm interested in the intersectionality between class, race, gender, identity, and its relation and representations in the built environment. I view borders (or the margins) as increasingly important sites for understanding all these concepts and ideas. But more importantly, as places to generate networks of connection, communication, and collaboration.
